Lantern Waste

Harken - Kaleb Nation

I really enjoyed the concept of Harken and thought that it was pretty unique.  Harken kept me interested throughout; I couldn't put the book down at the end of a chapter and often could not predict what would happen next.  I enjoyed all of the action-packed adventures and cannot wait for the next book.

Sometimes I felt like I was betraying the main character by liking Thad better.  Although, I thought all of the characters were excellent.

A Game of Thrones

A Game of Thrones - George R.R. Martin

My journey with this book has been an interesting.  I originally began reading at the end of November.  It took me awhile to get into because of learning all of the characters and houses.  Back then I was relating "A Game of Thrones" to "Tigana" by Guy Gavriel Kay except harder to keep straight in my head.  Sadly I had to put "Game of Thrones" aside in December because the library wanted it back.

When I repicked it up in June, I couldn't stop reading.  This was an amazing book, and now on to "A Clash of Kings" because I just can't stop reading where "Game of Thrones" left off.

My heart belongs to Winterfell.  Do people root for anyone besides them?  Ok, maybe the dragons.  They're pretty cool.

Stranger Will

Stranger Will - Caleb J. Ross What do I think? I'm not sure what I think. I'm posting a video review for Caleb once I figure this out.

The Subtle Knife (His Dark Materials Series #2)

The Subtle Knife (His Dark Materials Series #2) - Eh, not as great as "The Golden Compass." I was really looking forward to exploring the new world with Lyra. "The Subtle Knife" began in our world with a new character, Will. I was not excited by the new storyline. Once I accepted that the 2nd book seemed completely different, I started to be ok with it. I did enjoy Lyra and Will's new friendship. Lord Asriel and Mrs. Coulter did not make enough of a prescence, and there lacked awesome characters meaningful characters, like Iorek and Ma Costa. The ending made me mad with the now blatant war on God from all angles and one other thing that I won't spoil here. I'm not sure if I'll read the next book, eventhough I am somewhat curious to see how Pullman concludes the series.

Beautiful Creatures (Beautiful Creatures Series #1)

Beautiful Creatures (Beautiful Creatures Series #1) - So good! I wish their was a 4.5 star option, because I am very very picky about choosing 5 star books.

Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, Book 2)

Catching Fire - Suzanne Collins I liked it more than the Hunger Games. Maybe because I didn't watch a move first. Maybe because the plot is moving towards a higher climax...

Tigana

Tigana - Guy Gavriel Kay Such a long book. Always interesting, but once I got halfway through I couldn't put it down.
